Helps employees and retirees with payroll and benefit questions in a patient, courteous and confidential manner.
This position will be responsible for helping with the student employment process including student employment verification, monitoring work study awards, coding, and payroll.
The Payroll Technician performs a range of complex duties to ensure the accuracy of payroll calculations and maintains and provides detailed information to employees for specific payroll functions.
Under the direction of the Associate Director of HR, provides support to the office and/or individuals in assigned area of responsibility.
Typical responsibilities include answering telephones; responding to inquiries via phone, in-person, or via email; routing calls to appropriate staff; performing records maintenance; sorting and distributing mail; running reports; and, performing other support functions as necessary.
Requirements A high school diploma or the equivalent is required.
An equivalent combination of years of experience and education may be considered for substitution of educational requirements.
At least two years of progressively responsible administrative experience in Payroll or Human Resources or responsible bookkeeping, purchasing, and/or accounting experience is required.
